KIT HARINGTON AKA JON SNOW GETS £2M PER EPISODE IN G.O.T

Everybody loves game of thrones and if you don't love it you've surly heard of it now What would you say the new king of the North is worth well I'll tell you it should be a lot.
Kit Harington was a fairly unknown actor until he joined Game of Thrones as Jon Snow. And now, he has not only featured in several other big films, he reportedly earns £2m (N928m) per episode of the hit HBO fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
Harington is, however, not the only person making that amount; other stars —  Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Danish co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lanister) also earn £2m in each episode of the film.
The big cash had come from bonus clauses, which saw the stars earning percentages of the syndication payments that come from the record-breaking show being aired in more than 170 countries. The stars are also said to be benefitting from payments from re-runs, with shows earning audiences of up to 23 million people during the sixth season.
Meanwhile, Harington is reportedly worth $12m (N4.3bn).

MTV SCRAPS OF GENDER CATEGORIES AS KENDRICK LAMAR LEADS VMA NODS

MTV has rid itself of gender-specific categories as the network revealed nominees Tuesday for this year's Video Music Awards, in which rapper Kendrick Lamar is in the lead.
In the age of President Donald Trump and the fierce backlash he has generated among cultural leaders, MTV also announced a new category of "Best Fight Against the System" to recognize activist music.

The awards will air worldwide from Los Angeles on August 27. Reflecting its social media push, the music and youth culture network announced the nominations through posts by well-followed figures on Instagram.
Lamar, one of the most acclaimed figures in hip-hop, received the most nominations at eight including Video of the Year for "HUMBLE." -- an ironic look at fame in which he appears clad as the pope and as Jesus in "The Last Supper."
Tied for second with five nominations are Katy Perry for her sci-fi amusement park fantasy "Chained to the Rhythm" and The Weeknd for his star-studded "Reminder."
The Video Music Awards for the first time will not divide by gender with a new Artist of the Year prize incorporating the top male and female categories.
The network said in a statement that it was out to "break barriers" and had a positive response when it eliminated gender groups at this year's MTV Movie and TV Awards.
Nominees for Artist of the Year include four men -- Lamar and The Weeknd along with Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran -- and two women, Ariana Grande and Lorde.
Virtually all major US awards including the Grammys and Oscars have separate male and female categories.
The rare awards that mix male and female nominees include the Mercury Prize -- which, with an arthouse sensibility, recognizes the top British or Irish album each year -- and the Juno Awards for Canadian artists.

RICK ROSS SAYS HE CANT SIGN A FEMALE ARTIST CAUSE HE'LL HAVE SEX WITH HER

Rick Ross says he doesn’t sign female artists to his label, Maybach Music Group, because he would end up “f***ing” them.
Ross made the controversial comments in an interview with Power 105.1 FM’s Breakfast Club this week.
“You know, I never did it because I always thought, like, ‘I would end up f***ing a female rapper and f***ing the business up,” Ross said.
The 41-year-old — who is busy promoting a new VH1 music competition series, Signed — added, “I’m so focused on my business. Just gotta be honest with you. You know, she looking good. I’m spending so much money on her photo shoots. I gotta f*** a couple times.” (Reps for Ross and VH1 did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comments about his interview.)
It all began at the 8:45 mark, when Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee asked if Ross had considered working with women more. At multiple points in the interview, Ross asked Yee, who was sitting next to him, to show him her legs.
The rapper lost a deal with Reebok in 2013 when lyrics in his song “U.O.E.N.O.” were criticized for encouraging date rape. “Put molly all in her Champagne/ She ain’t even know it,” Ross rapped. “I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain’t even know it.”

R KELLY ACCUSED OF GOING AFTER UNDERAGED GIRLS AND TREATING THEM AS SLAVES

Timothy, the father of Jocelyn Savage who is alleged to be one of R. Kelly’s “captives” in an “abusive cult” has spoken out again, this time using stronger language to denounce R. Kelly’s relationship to his daughter and other women like her. Following a BuzzFeed News report on Monday that claimed R. Kelly keeps young women in his homes in Atlanta and Chicago in an “abusive cult,” many have released statements and spoken to the media to give conflicting reports, including R. Kelly himself. Jocelyn also spoke to TMZ and insisted that she was doing well and not being forced to do anything.
But Timothy, who was also one of the main sources in the original BuzzFeed News report, is not having it. He spoke to TMZ Friday, claiming Kelly’s relationships with the women living in his homes started when the women were under 18. He also alleges that Kelly is physically abusive to the women, even going as far to say that “it’s almost like slavery” because there “was no free will on the part of the young women,” according to TMZ.

When Jocelyn spoke to TMZ, she pleaded with her father to “stop embarrassing” her and “the whole entire family,” insisting that she was not brainwashed and was “fine.” She also implied that it was her father who had set up her situation with Kelly. But Timothy denies that and suggests that Kelly forced her to say that. Finally, Jocelyn’s father claims that FBI is still investigating the case, “especially in Florida,” but he cannot discuss details of the investigation.
Through a statement by his lawyer, R. Kelly denied the “abusive cult” allegations, adding that he will “work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”

JUSTIN BIEBERS BAD BEHAVIOUR GETS HIM BANNED IN CHINA

China has banned pop idol Justin Bieber from performing on the mainland because of his “bad behavior” on and off the stage.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture said the ban was necessary to “purify” the country’s entertainment industry but suggested it was not permanent, expressing the hope that Bieber might improve his behavior and earn back the love of his fans. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter has had run-ins with the law over alleged drunk driving and drag racing.
Compared to British alternative rock band Placebo, Bieber was the lucky one. The group has had to cancel its gig at the Summer Sonic Festival in Shanghai in September and faces a lifetime ban from performing in China after posting a picture of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, on the band’s official Instagram page. China considers the Nobel Peace Prize-winning monk a dangerous separatist.
The temporary Bieber ban emerged after someone posted a question on the Beijing culture bureau’s website last weekend asking why the Canadian singer was not allowed to perform in mainland China as part of his Asia tour in September. The tour, to promote his latest album, “Purpose,” takes in Tokyo, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore.
“Please give a detailed explanation of why Justin Bieber is not allowed to come to China! [He] has won many major awards, which demonstrates his extraordinary talents. Why aren’t mainland fans given the right to enjoy his performance?” the questioner wrote.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture replied Tuesday that Bieber’s “bad behavior” was the reason.
“We sympathize with your feelings. Justin Bieber is a talented singer but is also a controversial young foreign idol. We understand that there are records of his bad behavior, whether it is in his private life abroad or on stage….
“His inappropriate manner has caused public discontent. In order to regulate the market order of show business in China and purify the market environment, it was decided that performers of inappropriate behavior will not be welcomed.”
Bieber had been to China previously. While touring the country in 2013, he was captured on camera being carried up to the Great Wall of China by Chinese bodyguards. The incident was seen by many Chinese as offensive.
It’s not uncommon for China to ban foreign artists and performers for political reasons. In 2008, Icelandic pop queen Bjork was banned after calling for Tibetan independence during a gig in Shanghai. Maroon 5 and Oasis also faced similar fates after showing support for Tibet.

LINKIN PARK SETS UP CHESTER BENNINGTONS TRIBUTE SITE, #RIPCHESTER

On Saturday, Linkin Park set up a tribute site for singer Chester Bennington, who committed suicide on Thursday. The site — which seemed to be having connectivity issues in its first few hours, possibly due to heavy traffic — is fairly simple. It features a photo of Bennington onstage, surrounded by the light from thousands of fans’ phones, with the hashtag #RIPCHESTER and the following message:
In case you or someone you know needs support, here are some resources:
Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK
Crisis Text Line, the free, nationwide, 24/7 text message service for people in crisis, is here to support. For support in the United States, text HELLO to 741741 or message at facebook.com/CrisisTextLine.
For support outside the US, find resources at http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html

The site also features an area for fans to post messages, which was filling rapidly at press time.
On Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed additional details about Bennington’s death. The 41-year-old singer’s body was found on Thursday at his home in a suburb of Los Angeles. A bottle of alcohol was also found in the room, though it was not near his body, Winter said. Investigators did not find a note in the room. An autopsy is pending.
Bennington had struggled with depression and substance abuse throughout his life. He also appeared to be deeply impacted by the loss of Soundgarden/Audioslave singer Chris Cornell, who died in May and was good friends with Bennington. The Linkin Park frontman died on what would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.
On Friday, the band’s tour promoter Live Nation announced that all dates on the band’s North American tour, which was scheduled to begin on Thursday, have been cancelled. The tour was scheduled to run from Thursday through Oct. 22, including two “Blinkin Park” co-headlining dates with Blink-182 at New York’s Citi Field and Hersheypark in Pennsylvania. Blink-182 cancelled its appearances at the shows as well, saying in social media posts: “blink-182 is wrecked by the loss of our friend and amazing musician Chester Bennington. We could never imagine playing blinkin park without his incredible talent and voice. It just would not be possible. We send our deepest sympathies to his family, bandmates, friends and fans. Refunds will be available at the place of purchase.”
“We are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Chester Bennington,” a statement from the company reads. “The Linkin Park ‘One More Light’ North American Tour has been canceled and refunds are available at point of purchase. Our thoughts go out to all those affected.”

we have learned that there was no evidence of drugs at the scene, but there was a partially emptied bottle of alcohol in the room where his body was found. Bennington did not leave a suicide note at the scene.
