Timothy, the father of Jocelyn Savage who is alleged to be one of R. Kelly’s “captives” in an “abusive cult” has spoken out again, this time using stronger language to denounce R. Kelly’s relationship to his daughter and other women like her. Following a BuzzFeed News report on Monday that claimed R. Kelly keeps young women in his homes in Atlanta and Chicago in an “abusive cult,” many have released statements and spoken to the media to give conflicting reports, including R. Kelly himself. Jocelyn also spoke to TMZ and insisted that she was doing well and not being forced to do anything.
But Timothy, who was also one of the main sources in the original BuzzFeed News report, is not having it. He spoke to TMZ Friday, claiming Kelly’s relationships with the women living in his homes started when the women were under 18. He also alleges that Kelly is physically abusive to the women, even going as far to say that “it’s almost like slavery” because there “was no free will on the part of the young women,” according to TMZ.
When Jocelyn spoke to TMZ, she pleaded with her father to “stop embarrassing” her and “the whole entire family,” insisting that she was not brainwashed and was “fine.” She also implied that it was her father who had set up her situation with Kelly. But Timothy denies that and suggests that Kelly forced her to say that. Finally, Jocelyn’s father claims that FBI is still investigating the case, “especially in Florida,” but he cannot discuss details of the investigation.
Through a statement by his lawyer, R. Kelly denied the “abusive cult” allegations, adding that he will “work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
